Hi friends! I am starting a blog, crazy!
My name is Elle Jennings, I am a twenty year old college student and world traveler. I am originally from a very small town called Shelton located in Washington State USA. I study at the Washington State University and live in Pullman Washington most of the year. Right now I currently live on a boat in the middle of the ocean, but we’ll get into that later.
I study Viticulture and Enology at WSU, many people don’t know what that means so I’ll break it down for you. I’m a wine enthusiast, I study the agricultural processes of viticulture, which is grape growing and grape production, and the chemical process of enology, which is the winemaking process from the time you receive grapes to the time the wine is bottled. Its pretty cool. Sooo I spend a lit of time studying (and by studying I mean drinking wine), but keep an eye out for my own wine brand someday 😉
I currently work at an awesome winery which has taught me all my hands-on experience. It’s called Mosquito Fleet Winery located in Belfair, Washington. This is the place where I developed my love for wine. I am currently completing my internship at this winery and from the moment I walked through the doors for my first shift, I was fascinated, I was hungry, I wanted to learn it all. So that’s currently what I’m doing. I’m trying to learn it all.
I have always had an itch for travel, but things like university, being a broke college student, and having a job have held me back from exploring the world that I desire to see. Along with a little bit of fear, I always had ambitions to travel the world on my own and experience things solo, but I was always too scared, nervous, and anxious to act on those ambitions.
I have also had a thing for writing. I may not be the best writer but there’s something about putting my thoughts and feelings on paper that is so rejuvenating. My passion for writing came from my stepdad when he was my 7th grade English teacher. He taught me how healthy it was to write my feelings, write my emotions, and how writing anything, even the smallest things can help in so many ways. I took this lesson to heart and I doubt he knows this but sense then I have taken a hobby of writing everything. My thoughts, my feelings, my opinions, research papers all for fun. One thing I have never done although is make my writing public, I have lived with my writing being on my laptop and my laptop only. I figured though on this journey I am always encountering so many uncomfortable situations and I am always being pushed outside of my comfort zone, so why not push myself a little further. So now I am taking to starting a blog, making my writing public, and sharing everything that’s on my mind with anyone who wants to read. It’s crazy!
I would have never thought I would be one to make my own writing public, but here I am. I am about one month into my journey and I have been journaling and writing about everything that I have experienced and everything that has happened. I have been vulnerable and fragile at points but I am wanting to share my journey with others. I want to share this experience I am having because I want people to know about it, I want people to understand that my travels have not been as perfect as my instagram makes them seem, I want people to understand the emotions I have been having while on this trip, and I want people to laugh and learn from the mistakes I have made while traveling.
So enough about me here’s my Blog 🙂
